Tested and Proven

Our Lonprotect products are able to reduce the effectiveness of enveloped viruses by 99.9% within an hour. This advanced antiviral technology has been tested on the avian coronavirus and avian influenza virus (H5N3) by scientists from Tottori University in Japan.

How it works

Enveloped viruses rely on their external protective envelope to survive. The coronavirus is a type of enveloped virus. It usually causes mild illnesses such as the common cold, but can also lead to more serious infections such as COVID-19, SARS and pneumonia.

When an enveloped virus particle comes into contact with a Lonprotect surface, the active agents found in the vinyl chloride resin layer destroy the protective envelope of the virus. As the virus cannot survive without its envelope, it cannot replicate and is prevented from spreading further from the surface itself.

Tested and Proven

Lonprotect's antiviral technology has been tested by Japan's Tottori University to be effective on the avian coronavirus and the avian influenza virus (H5N3) - which are in the same coronavirus family as the flu and COVID-19.

In addition, Lonprotect flooring has undergone international testing standards (ISO 21702 antimicrobial surface test) and is able to effectively reduce the spread of contagious viruses by 99.9% such as:

  • Influenza A H3N2 virus, which causes respiratory tract infections and is related to the COVID-19 virus

  • Norovirus, which causes vomiting and diarrhea (*Surrogate virus used in testing)

Note: Antiviral treatments are not intended to treat, cure, or prevent disease. The product complies with the SIAA safety standards.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE

Viruses can spread from person to person mainly in droplets that fly out when an infected person coughs or sneezes, and land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby. A person can also be infected by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose or eyes.

Installing the Lonprotect wallpaper or flooring product in your home or workplace creates a more sterile environment by acting as a preventive measure against virus infections.
